Hello all, I need about 5000 cassette tapes urgently, for an upcoming project. The tapes will be destroyed in the progress, so there's no need to compile a great mixtape or anything. Broken tapes, bad quality tapes, anything is welcome. Get in touch if you can help me out, or if you know someone who still has a warehouse filled with these things. Pretty please and thank you.

Tomorrow's the opening of the Pop Art show at NICC. Scheld'apen was invited to do an exhibition at the NICC space, and the lazy monkeys in charge in their turn asked Kati Heck, Michèle Matyn, Lieven Segers and Dennis Tyfus to do the hard work and curate the damn show, which will be filled with work of befriended artists who often call Scheld'apen home away from home. Drop by and bring your Barbies and G.I.Joe dolls.

My back's all popped out and I had the weirdest dream ever after the most intense, jam-packed and definitely craziest night of the year. Here's some boring backstage/hell's kitchen corn action, which sadly enough is pretty much the only video footage shot all night. An off-screen and spooning Vincenzo Strupar in action, heating up some tequila, peppers and lime popcorn, later followed by caramel and pecan nuts popcorn, parmesan cheese popcorn, and peanutbutter popcorn. Next year's Ultra Eczema nightmare song will most likely be Paloma Blanca, who knows what we'll cook up for that occasion.
Rounding up and killing two birds with one stone, here's a marvellous dubstep popcorn remix Nag recorded at his Diamant Studio mere hours before the nightmare kicked off, and Jessie e.m.'s popping and bouncing contribution to the allnighter. Hot like butters!

Even after the multitude of times I've listened to this track or have witnessed it being performed live, it's still a tearjerker every single damn time!

The first day of March might as well be as good a time as any to wish you all a happy newyear. To celebrate this joyous occasion, here's a mouthwatering live spitting session at 101Barz by Nag, Rasss, PP and Six-M. Tighter than an Antwerp parking spot.
Also be sure to check out the Eigen Makelij mixtape volume 2, it's available as a free download, so it's pretty much a gift that keeps on giving. If you still haven't had enough after all that, there's even more lyrical and binary sweetness available for free. Check out nasty NAG's Toekomstmuziek, 2000wat's Koekembak or mixtape volume 1. Then go make an appointment at your local orthopedist to have your neck fixed after all the heavy headnoddig.
I'm happy to be a little part a new graphic fanzine coming out of the depths of France, called Graisse Animal. The first issue will be out on April 9th, and it also features work by Ward Zwart, LL Cool Jo, Havec and Ephameron to name but a few. Check out the site for a full list of contributors or to order yourself a copy.
In my plan to take over the whole internet, I did another little interview. It's in the second issue of on Lateflip magazine, a really cool Belgian online skateboard magazine. If you're flipping through the pages, it actually sounds like it too, so that's pretty rad. They also did an interview with notorious Malines child molesters and satanists Loathus, and had a talk with Seldon Hunt at his Mechanical Insektrospective exhibition in Antwerp. The premier issue featured an interview with Ward Zwart, The Locust and We'rewolves, so be sure to check that one out as well. Be it on a skateboard, or in a van, Awesome Color is still on the prowl in Eurocountry, be sure to check them out if they play a city or a wedding anniversary near you.

I was lucky enough to get namedropped in an online travel article about Antwerp on New York Magazine Online. I'm being credited as a graffiti artist though, which I am definitely not, I simply don't have the skills to pull it off. I make silly drawings, self-publish crappy little magazines, shirts, posters and stickers, and do a hell of a lot more stuff that people would categorise as being a waste of time (as seen on this site, or on my Flickr). Also, the orientation of the writer temporarily abandoned him, probably due to a jet lag or something. Sure, our city is a little town compared to the Big Apple, but in no way is it little enough so that you can keep an eye on the Muntplein, while eating at Brasserie Moderne, which is located at the St. Paulus (Mc's) Plaats. It's at least a five minute walk from one to the other. Still, it's great to get mentioned in an international article, so thanks!

Here's a little video that was sent to me by Guy Rombouts, he's been updating me with noteworthy monkey blogs and news, which is great. The video shows the findings of Dr. Susan Savage-Rumbaugh, and features bonobo's making tools, communicating with people, playing music AND playing Pac-Man. Pretty amazing dookie.

Tony Wilson, co-founder of the legendary Factory records, has died yesterday of a heart attrack at the age of 57. This is the dude who signed bands like Joy Division, New order and later on Happy Mondays to his label. He had just battled cancer a mere months ago, but doctors claimed the heart attack had nothing to do with that. It was only last month that me and my band passed through Manchester to go see a bunch of other befriended bands, that we passed the old Haçienda site, and I started lecturing my bandmates in the van about all the shit Tony's pulled out of his sleeve. They looked at me as if I was a lunatic, and probably rightfully so. If you're still unaware of who Tony Wilson was, I'd suggest watching the film 24 Party People, it's not the greatest movie ever made, but it'll give you some sort of clue nonetheless. And designer geeks like me will go nuts over the Factory Records, The Complete Graphic Album book. I was lucky enough to get my hands on it the previous time I passed through Madchester.
Tony, rest in peace.

Belgian sprout turned Canadian bacon, Kev the Spoiler, aka that dude that used to play bass for Justice, aka that dude that had the fanzine with naked chicks, aka that dude that made pretty much all those sweet Dead Stop and Justice shirts, aka that dude that used to chill at the friterie across from my house (still miss seeing him and his wife chilling there) now has a site that features his art. He's offering his skills and selling prints and paints, check it out and tell your friends: spoilerart.com.
